Performance Standards/ Disciplinary Core Ideas / Science & Engineering Practices:

Scientific Knowledge is Based on Empirical Evidence:
Science knowledge is based upon logical and conceptual connections between evidence and explanations.
*Which connections can you make between metric measurement skills and real-world science?
*How does your “Element SuperHero” reflect and incorporate the actual elements’ properties?

Today in Class:

  1. I showed students your grades for your 2nd Trimester Unit Assessment.   Yes, this is part of your 3rd Tri grades.  If you want to improve your grade on tests, quizzes and other assessments, ask me!  I will be happy to help you and I will continue to offer study sessions each week.

     2.  Students completed work on their Element Superhero/ Character – cartoon   character, based on element’s physical and chemical properties.  You worked on this for  about 15-20 minutes.  You have now had three classes ( check my Blog posts Feb. 23, Feb. 28 , today, March 7) to complete this activity.  You should follow the directions shared with you, both online and in a hard copy.

3.  Groups of students discussed the “Reading the Labels”  Mass and Volume Homework— you evaluated their work, which is a higher level thinking skill.  Could you identify the correct and incorrect answers and could you explain why these were completed well or not?

Homework- Take Away Task:  Complete your Element SuperHero or Cartoon Character!
