Science Rocks!

Salmon in the Classroom!!!!

Alright, you salmon watchers!

11/17/22 The eggs were picked up today, so their story starts here!

First: Tank all set up at 52 degrees, placed the salmon eggs in their ziplock baggie to acclimate!

Our sponsor – who donated all of the tank materials, chiller, filters, is Grand Haven Offshore Challenge.

Check out the eyes! 7 fish had hatched already by the time they were moved into the tank!

Fish eggs dropped gently into the tank…. and then … 125 salmon eggs and alevins (tiny fish with egg sacs when they have hatched) are in the tank!

January 20!

Genetics Activity: Students classified the salmon by their Types of Traits: Physical, Behavioral, Reproductive, & Survival Traits!

February 1st!

Look at the size, beginning of April!
