Daily Objectives:

1.  Demonstrate how waves transfer energy when they interact with matter
2.  Explore: Energy Transfer- Energy is transferred from a source to a receiver by radiation, conduction, and convection.
3.  When energy is transferred from a source to a receiver, the quantity of energy before the transfer is equal to the quantity of energy after the transfer.

Today in Class:

  1.  Mr. Fowler reviewed energy types with you.  You should have these listed in your notes: they are the energy types that were discussed on the website (homework – Monday).  I have also written them on my Blog  (Notes for the Unit page).
  2. Next – you did learn / copy the notes – Energy Transfer, Heat Transfer…. (yes I will post these!!).
  3. Third, you and a partner watched the video clips (see below!)  to determine the types of energy shown and the energy transfer that takes place.  Most students completed these examples with time to spare (except 7th hour – due to the tornado drill).
  4. Mr. Fowler reviewed some of the energy transfers with your class.  These are your notes for energy transfer.
