Today in Class:
1. Bell Ringer- a. Students who needed to check the Types of Matter – Make-Up Worksheet- corrected this with me. This way, you could double-check that you now understand these topics.
b. The rest of the class started reading pages 80-87: Mendeleev and the P Table. These are the pages assigned for reading tonight for HW. You were directed to read these pages and complete a “I read, I understand” reading strategy.
2. Next, your class participated in a notes discussion of the Periodic Table with Mr. Fowler. You referred to the Periodic Table worksheet / Google.sheets as you answered questions on the worksheet. These were displayed on the SmartBoard (and I will write these on my Blog – “Notes for the Unit” page).
Mr Fowler showed a video clip that illustrated the reactivity of Group I / Family I elements to water: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A33IX2RRKso
Homework: Read pages 80-87: Mendeleev and the P Table. You may have started this in class today. You were directed to read these pages and complete a “I Read, I Understand” reading strategy.
