Daily Objectives:

1.   Differentiate between physical and chemical properties of matter
2.   Define Matter; describe classification and grouping strategies for matter
3.  Classify substances by their chemical properties (flammability, pH, acid-base indicators, reactivity).
5.  Classify matter by types- purity of matter (compounds, mixtures, elements)

Today in Class:
1.  Bell Ringer: Types of Matter WS
     If you finish this early, Start to read pages 9-12, Purity of matter.
2.  You and your partner completed the Station Activity – Properties of Matter.
3. Students created another Graphic organizer – Purity of Matter
You classified matter by how pure the matter is, noting definitions,  and created another cool graphic organizer.  Mr. Fowler led you through this, and he showed you his definitions and notes, for types of matter: elements; compounds; mixtures– (heterogeneous and homogeneous}
Complete your Purity of Matter Graphic Organizer – noting at least 2 examples for each type of matter.  Refer to your text, pages 9-12, for ideas.
Elements — name two examples
Compounds: name two examples
Heterogeneous Mixtures: name 2 examples
Homogeneous Mixtures: name 2 examples
