Daily Objectives:

1. Design and conduct scientific investigations
2. Identify wise and careful use of scientific materials, and procedures during investigations and experiments
3. Demonstrate scientific concepts through various illustrations,
performances, models, performances, models, tables, graphs,…

Today in Class:
1.  Announcements about the trip Tuesday:  a.  Wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts— Avoid bug bites and poison ivy!  b.  Wear a sweatshirt or jacket! The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, high of 67, breezy.  c.  Wear comfortable, closed toe shoes (NO flip-flops!) Please!  {Pictures of Poison Ivy below– we will point this out on the trip.}
2. Students  (groups) should have shown that you had all or most of their Gummy Bear  Pre-Lab complete.  We really focused on the Materials and Procedure.
3.  Students brought needed materials from home and measurement materials to their tables began their experiments.  Groups should have had time to discuss their procedure and then run through the first set of trials of your experiment.
4.  You should  have added materials on your list and added steps to your procedures as you decided if these were necessary.
5.  Clean -up last 5 minutes, and explanation of the HW.
Homework:  Complete the Gather Information section of the Gummy Bear Lab.  You should list 3 science terms and their definitions.  These terms should be concepts that will help you to explain your results.  This HW is due Wednesday!
