Objectives for Learning:
1. Describe and categorize energy waves that originate from the Sun 2. Demonstrate how waves transfer energy when they interact with matter 3.Explain how only a tiny fraction of light energy from the sun is transformed to heat energy on Earth.
P.EN.M.4 / P.EN.07.62 / P.EN.07.33
1. Students use the Windows to the Universe site to describe how solar radiation is transferred from the Sun, how it moves through space and how the different wavelengths are different forms of electromagnetic radiation. Students in partners complete a WS that accompanies the website.
Homework: Study the Electromagnetic Spectrum; study examples of radiation wave types; note the general trends of the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
