Objectives for Learning: 1. Demonstrate different types of waves and their component parts using simple springs.
Today in Class:
1. Partners attempted to demonstrate different types of waves using springs, Slinkies, etc.. Students were to refer to their texts (Sound and Waves), pp. 1-24, as they tried to mimic the diagrams on these pages. Students tried to label the parts of the waves and the types of waves correctly — we will discuss this further Tuesday.
2. Partners then started to read more of the section (pages 1-5…)
Students should read for ~20 minutes – pages 1-24. You might not complete the reading; the goal is to read the section carefully (in the 20 min. HW time) and check to see that you labeled the types of waves and their component parts correctly.
